KFC STYLE FRIED CHICKEN

KFC is not native to us but we have become so obsessed with it. Every weekend there is a demand from the kids to buy KFC fried chicken. And this made me learn how to prepare KFC style Chicken at home.

It's a deliciously mouth watering recipe and I can't hold it in myself without sharing it. Do try and let us know how you enjoy home cooking with us.

Ingredients:

1. Chicken Marination

  • 8pc Chicken (wings, breast and thighs)

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder

  • ½ tsp Garlic powder

  • ½ tsp Ginger powder

  • 1 tsp Black pepper powder

  • 1 tsp White pepper powder (optional)

  • 2 tbsp Curd/Vinegar

  • 2 tbsp Chilli sauce/hot sauce

2. Coating Mixture

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

  • ¼ cup Corn flour

  • ½ tsp Salt

  • ½ tsp Red chilli flakes

  • ½ tsp dried mustard powder (optional)

  • ½ tsp Oregano powder

  • 1 egg (to be added to marinated chicken before coating)

  • ½ cup cold water added to remaining marinade for second coating

Method

  1. Take a bowl, add chicken pieces along with the other ingredients i.e, salt, red chilli powder, garlic powder, ginger powder, black pepper powder, white pepper powder (optional) curd/vinegar, and chilli sauce.

  2. Mix well, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

  3. Take the marinated chicken bowl and add an egg to the mixture and keep aside.

  4. Take another bowl and add all the dry ingredients, all purpose flour, corn flour, salt, red chilli flakes, dry mustard powder (optional) and oregano powder.

  5. Now dust the marinated chicken piece by piece in the dry ingredient dust of any extra dry ingredients keep it aside in a tray.

  6. Now for the second coating add a little bit of water in the emptied chicken bowl.

  7. Then dip the coated chicken into the bowl of marinated water and simultaneously dust in the dry ingredients and keep the chicken pieces in a tray.

  8. To deep fry the chicken. Preheat the oil for 10 minutes on a medium flame.

  9. Then fry the chicken until golden brown.

Serve with Mayonnaise /Ketchup /Toum. (garlic sauce).
