KAARA SEMIYA

It is really very easy to ask ‘What’s for today’s breakfast?’, but it is quite difficult task to think what to cook for breakfast each and every day. Here, is one of the best and instant dish. The main ingredient is Vermicelli which is made up of rice flour. Kaara Semiya goes well with Coconut Chutney.




INGREDIENTS:

1 packet Vermicelli

1 medium size Onion chopped

1 medium size Tomato chopped

1 medium size Carrot chopped

2 no. of Chillies chopped

1 tablespoon of mustard seeds

1 tablespoon of urad dal

1 teaspoon of asafoetida powder

Few curry leaves

Vegetable Oil and salt as per requirement


METHOD:

  • First steam cook the Vermicelli for 3-5 minutes and keep it aside to get cool.

  • Heat the vegetable oil in the pan, add mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and a pinch of asafoetida powder into the pan and let them crackle.

  • Now, add Onion and Chilli; saute it till the onion turns into Golden Brown.

  • Add Carrot and Tomato, let them get cooked for a while.

  • Add the boiled Vermicelli into the pan and mix them well with the vegetables.

  • Pour 2 glass of water into the pan and close the pan with the lid. Let it cook for 7-8 minutes.

Now, Kaara Semiya is ready, serve it hot with Coconut Chutney.
