Papdi Chaat is a popular fast food and street food in the Indian Subcontinent especially in north India.

Papri refers to the wafers, Chaat is a thick cream in Hindi. Create a crispy, tangy, and salty flavors. When you talk about health benefits of Dahi Papdi Chaat it is quite good in protein and presence of curd is beneficial for good digestion.

Papri chaat is traditionally prepared using crisp fried dough wafers known as papri, along with boiled chickpeas, boiled potatoes, dahi (yogurt) and tamarind chutney and topped with chat masala and sev. The papri are typically prepared with All purpose flour (maida) and ghee or oil. Mint, Coriander and spices may also be used. The dish has sweet, sour, tangy and spicy flavors and a creamy and crunchy texture.

  • 2 cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)

  • ¼ cup Rava (Sooji)

  • 1 tsp Ajwain seeds

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 2-3 tbsp Ghee

  • ½ cup water


  • 1 cup Potato

  • 1 cup Boiled Chickpea

  • ½ cup Onion Chopped

  • ½ cup tomato Chopped

  • 1 cup Dahi (Yogurt)

  • ½ Green Chutney

  • ½ Tamarind Chutney

  • 1 tsp Black Salt

  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 cup Sev


  1. To make a dough of papadi. Take a wide bowl and add All purpose flour, Rava, Salt, Ajwain and warm Ghee mix well before you add water.

  2. Now add water to make a slightly tight dough and keep aside for 30 minutes to soften.

  3. Now to make papdi using a roller make the dough like chapati and curve out small circles using a cookie mold press.

  4. Now deep fry the circles of dough in a frying pan. Until they turn golden yellow.

  5. Serve the papadi along with the other serving items, garnish them in batches one by one, making them double layered Dahi (yogurt) Papdi Chaat. Sprinkle Chaat Masala, sev, coriander.
